If Walmart has an everyday low price guarantee, what happens to the ads from the competition? They are useless. So why not give them meaning by recycling them into everyday items people can use?
This was the idea behind OUR COMPETITORS RECYCLE campaign. Recycling boxes were placed at Walmart to collect the ads from the competitors. Artisans were hired to teach people the art of paper craft. The best items produced from this effort were sold at all 22 Walmart Stores across the island of Puerto Rico creating an industry in a financial starving environment.
